Welcome!

Honey Dove is dedicated to enriching families and child development by bringing screen-free experiences for ages 12 & under to interactive audio devices to help parents address challenges of today’s digital world. Rooted in Biblical values and Faith in Jesus, we curate a collection of children’s content that amplifies Christian musicians, storytellers, producers & teachers for the next generation.

Why a Device for Screen-Free Play & Learning?

Detriments of screen time have become widely apparent, both when we look around our daily lives as well as in the official academic studies (see bottom of page). On the flip side, so have the benefits of both independent play and early language immersion for a child’s development – physical, verbal, emotional, intellectual & creative; even promoting patience & problem-solving.

That’s where the standalone interactive audio devices for children come in. These fuse the benefits of independent play & screen-free experiences of all types

However, faith-based material is nonexistent on current platforms, and therefore missing what we believe is the most vital element of God’s Word & relationship with Jesus.

Faith-based & Biblical Content

Our mission is to serve all these benefits with children’s worship music, faith-based stories, prayers and Scripture in order to help equip parents of young kids with easy and safe ways to “repeat (scripture) again and again to your children” (Deut 6:7) and support them to cultivate good soil (Matt. 13:23) starting at an early age. We will provide both meaningful “edu-tainment” value and spiritual nourishment for as young as birth with faithful lullabies up to midschoolers via complex stories, bible studies and deeper prayer.

Independent Learning & Play

An audio experience itself is a healthy alternative to TV or gaming, yet these interactive platforms are more than just an alternative to screen time. These standalone screen-free devices let a child safely & freely explore their preferences & feelings at a given moment, which ultimately leads to a myriad of other long-term developmental benefits. Children control what they listen to, when they switch, and how they play & learn without overstimulation by visual content on a screen.

Independent play expands a child’s emotional capacity, as well as helps them learn both self-control and to regulate behavior.1  It also helps develop self-confidence & self-entertainment skills. Even more, independent play also “boosts problem solving abilities” by nurturing spiritual fruit of patience & perseverance.2

Even elementary & midschool children need freedom to explore their interests & curiosities (even questions!) around the many categories of Faith in Jesus and following God without access to the internet or exposure to advertising.

Excessive Screen Usage Stifles Communication & Problem-Solving

There’s quite a growing body of evidence on the detriments of screentime. Notably in a recent 2023 study, JAMA Pediatrics found that “greater screen time for children aged 1 year was associated with developmental delays in communication and problem-solving at ages 2 and 4 years.”3

Further an academic review from 2023 described numerous development limitations and problems that the mounting evidence has only further supported.4 These ranged from poor behavior and vocabulary to impeded “development of physical and cognitive abilities”. It also noted “screen time has been linked to obesity, sleep problems, depression, and anxiety.”
